A young man from the village of Kyrlay goes to the woods in the evening to gather firewood, where he meets Shurale. Shurale intends to tickle the young man to death, but he escapes through cleverness. He asks Shurale to help him hammer a wedge into a log before Shurale can kill him. Unsuspecting, Shurale agrees and uses her hands to pry open the gap. The young man then pulls out the wedge, and the log forcefully grips Shurale’s fingers.
