- Project Goals and Mission
The project’s mission is to foster a culture of separate waste collection, promote ecological awareness, and engage residents and youth in responsible waste management. Events take place at the eight designated collection points across Moscow every third Sunday of the month under the «Collection Points» schedule. This initiative is part of the #EcoDay project, supported by KOSIMP, Mayor of Moscow grants, and Rosmolodezh Grants.
My objectives were: to participate in the media coverage of the event, assist with receiving and sorting recyclables, support volunteers, and facilitate the collection of various material streams.
2. Personal Activities
I participated in the «Lomonosov Shares» event, including the September 20th gathering, serving as a photo volunteer and environmental rescuer. I photographed the event’s progression for subsequent promotion and recruitment of new participants. I mentored new volunteers by explaining how to complete the Google Form, join their designated chat, track real-time updates, and navigate the accepted material fractions. I provided logistical support for collecting and sorting recyclable materials, including soft plastic film: I helped cross-reference the materials against the «Collection» list and preparation guidelines. Recognizing that the DSA location was not collecting items that day, I verified information from the pinned messages and the point’s chat. Furthermore, I supported team communication among organizers, volunteers, and attendees.

3. Accomplishments
Media and informational materials were prepared, which increased the visibility of the event among students and youth. The support helped onboard newcomers into the work more quickly. The quality of recycling acceptance and sorting was maintained at the required level. My contribution helped connect the media, volunteer, and organizational aspects of the event.

4. Coordination with HSE
There was no formal institutional coordination with HSE: no agreements, letters, or approvals were finalized with the administration or departments. The interaction was informal and informational, based on representation. I participated as a student of HSE engaged in eco-rescue and educational activities, and this was leveraged to promote the event among interested individuals.
