Moriana was once a young woman who fell in love with the wrong person. One day, they argued, and he pushed her into a lake. Moriana couldn’t swim, so she struggled helplessly until she drowned. He didn’t help her.
Moriana became a mavka, and since then, she cannot accept her death and move on to the Otherworld. She tries to return to her home village, to the one she loves, because she remembers nothing of her demise.
Moreyana believes she is still alive.
