Political Science Department elections—an annual student tradition at HSE’s Faculty of Social Sciences—where «parties» compete for votes using doctoral candidates, Eurovision artists, brands, performances, and much more.

The «Endure!» Party
Students from the «Endure!» party approached me to develop a visual identity that would reflect their political commitment. Two tasks were set: to design a color palette associated with leftist ideology, and to emphasize the hooligan, bold, and provocative image of the party itself.
Logo
Based on the request and the general context, I selected a color scheme common among new left-wing and social-democratic groups—pink and white. Thus, the first objective was achieved.

The «Tolerate!» Logo and Mascot
To solve the second problem, in the inscription «Терпите!» (Endure!), I combined two typefaces: the body text Arial and the display typeface Typefesse, and added illustrative graphics to the letter «П.» It is this combination of the two fonts that solves the challenge of reflecting the party’s character while maintaining readability. It was at this same stage that the mascot in the shape of the letter «П» was conceived, which became the face of the party.
Cups… Little cups… Coasters!!!!
As part of the «Tolerate!» election campaign, various actions were organized for political science students. One such initiative involved plastic cups that appeared near the water coolers in the HSE building on Myasnitskaya Street.
Protest signs: «Don’t Tolerate Thirst!»
In the 2024 elections, political parties faced an unusual restriction—a ban on physical campaigning. To circumvent this, I proposed creating AR-based campaigning that allowed for the effect of party involvement without violating regulations.
Cup Promotion
As part of this same endeavor, the party provided feminine hygiene products and was able to appeal to female voters without violating any rules.
Protest signs: «Girls, don’t tolerate discomfort!»
As a result, empty signboards hung in the hallways and restrooms, while photographs of «real agitation» began circulating on social media.

Redesign
As the election for «Tolerate!» approached its climax, the party needed to reboot its positioning, attract a new electorate, and capitalize on the dissatisfaction among the CICom students. The party was renamed «Don’t Tolerate!», and I developed a new logo and mascot.
New logo and mascot: «Don’t Tolerate It!»
The color palette has remained, but the mood has shifted to a more assertive, action-oriented tone. The design moved away from the childish legs and buttocks; the letter «P» with illustrative graphics remains the central element, but the mascot’s character is now more decisive.
The Telegram Channel «Don’t Tolerate It!»
Members of the «Don’t Tolerate!» party maintained a Telegram channel throughout the election period, publishing podcasts, event announcements, student discounts, and much other content.

Thanks to a thoughtfully conceived visual identity, all publications in the channel share a consistent style, and «Don’t Tolerate It!» received the highest score from the jury in the «Visual Style» criterion.
