Exhibition-concert at KC DOM
Task: create a poster and organize an exhibition for the concert «New Jazz. Free Improvisation» at the DOM Cultural Center.
Workflow
The process was akin to the music itself, structured as an improvisation. Predicting the outcome beforehand was impossible because each stage introduced new variables—the color of the paper, the printing method, the typeface chosen by the artist, and the material used for text application. First, I searched my personal library while listening to the artists’ music. Then, I analyzed its structure to build a grid.

After printing, the conditions changed: the image ended up on red paper and came out black and red, and the typography had to be assembled manually from sticker letters. Therefore, the composition was formed directly on the poster—each element constrained and simultaneously defined the next step. Thus, the poster was gradually assembled from a pre-selected image and the randomness of the process itself. The final version was the result of this sequential improvisation.
