I have been a volunteer with the HSE Volunteer Center for about three years. I regularly attend events and, during this time, I have experienced an incredibly diverse range of—sometimes wild—sessions. In this project, I want to tell you about the events I assisted with over the summer and fall.
Open House Day of the Faculty of Design and Production
The event was held for children and their parents who are planning to apply to the Pre-University Training Faculty. There were numerous booths showcasing different specializations, allowing everyone to learn the necessary information and even sample the chosen fields. Those interested could receive one-on-one consultations with experts from HSE on the following topics:
• Introduction to the Pre-University Training programs • Career guidance testing • Admission to the HSE Lyceum • Admissions Committee • Distributed Lyceum Schools

My task at the event was to lead a small creative workshop for visitors. For those who were interested, I also spoke about my field and my studies at the university.

Navigating the Big Tower
Many freshmen have enrolled in the university, and they are still having trouble navigating the buildings. Many have not yet acquired their passes. That’s where we—the Volunteers! —came to help the security team. On this day, we assisted security personnel in checking student IDs and rosters so that young students could get their passes.

The final stage of the National Open Championship of Creative Competencies ArtMasters for the «Juniors» age category
ArtMasters is a large-scale competition for professionals in the field of backstage operations and digital art, where the biggest creative projects are realized under the guidance of leading experts. Individuals up to age 35 can participate in the championship. I was invited to volunteer for the championship by the HSE Volunteer Center. My responsibilities included: — Working with children on-site (navigation, checking attendance lists) — Assisting organizers on-site during the final participant defenses. For me, this was a new experience; I not only helped the organizers but also saw the Championship from the inside.

Light in Theme

«Light in the Dark» is the result of extensive collaborative work, where young people with and without disabilities take the stage, explore important themes, and speak to the world in their own voice. My primary role was assisting the actors and director during rehearsals. This is a meaningful event, and during these shifts, I feel genuinely useful.
Night Run
Night Run — the only mass running event in Moscow that starts after sunset at 10:00 PM. This year, participants ran along the Moskva River embankment. The course finished on the grounds of the Lomonosov Moscow State University University Square. Volunteer location: refreshment station along the course.

My primary task was to quickly provide participants with water and maintain their hydration during the event.

The premiere of «Polyphony"—an almanac of short films about Russia’s indigenous peoples.
In August, the premiere of «Polyphony”—an almanac of short films about the indigenous peoples of Russia: Udege, Evenk, Abazin, Shapus, and Even—took place in the „Atom“ pavilion at VDNKh. Through the personal stories of the characters, the films explored how language, familial memory, traditions, and connection to place are being preserved and transformed today. They addressed how representatives of different generations define the significance of belonging to their people.Following the screening, there was a discussion of the films with their creators, during which attendees could learn details about the production process.
Atom Pavilion, VDNKh
On this day, I was checking people’s registrations and distributing admission tickets. Afterward, I helped the organizers guide people to the exit since the show concluded right as the pavilion was closing.

I have a long-standing relationship with the University Volunteer Center, and I’m pleased that the team values me. Recently, an interview featuring me—as an active volunteer—was published on the official Volunteer Center channel.
