Selected Works
Design · Illustration · Animation

A selection of projects exploring visual communication, objects, and storytelling — from experimental concepts to commissioned work.
2023–2026

Thinking through visualsI work across communication design, illustration, and animation, combining research, experimentation, and storytelling to develop distinctive visual ideas.
My projects range from conceptual explorations to real-world collaborations, often finding unexpected connections between everyday objects, cultural references, and visual narratives.

CANOLLI
Branding · Packaging · Visual CommunicationThe Brief: Develop a packaging concept for a food product with three SKU variations.
The Idea: How can the character of Sicily be conveyed through dessert packaging? The concept draws inspiration from Sicilian mosaics and the Trinacria, the island’s traditional symbol, reimagined as a bold and charismatic mascot.
The Solution: I developed a brand identity inspired by Sicilian cultural heritage, combining expressive graphics, regional symbolism, and the character of the product itself. The concept was adapted across three SKU variations.
The Outcome: The project was exhibited, received positive feedback, and continues to be submitted to communication design competitions.

Great Circus
Brand Identity · Art Direction · MerchandiseThe Brief: The circus’s existing visual identity no longer reflects its cultural significance or scale. This project explores a new visual direction for the historic institution as it evolves into a modern urban landmark.
The Idea: The circle became the central visual motif, inspired by the circus ring, hoops, unicycles, and clown noses. The identity combines traditional circus aesthetics with the playful spirit of Soviet-era design.
The Solution: I redesigned the logo and developed a visual identity spanning promotional graphics, merchandise, stickers, and pins. The concept also explores potential city-wide collaborations and public events.
The Outcome: A cohesive branding concept that connects the circus’s heritage with its future, positioning it as a distinctive cultural symbol of Moscow.

POTROSHKI (giblets)
Branding · Packaging · DesignThe Brief: Develop a fruit gummy brand concept for children and teenagers.
The Idea: What if human organs became characters people actually wanted to meet? This led to the idea of gummy characters inspired by human anatomy, turning learning into play.
The Solution: I developed a series of charismatic human-organ characters, concepts for educational toys, packaging, and an animated promotional video. Each element was united by a single idea: making a complex subject accessible and engaging through humor and visual storytelling.
The Outcome: Although the project remained a concept, it sparked genuine interest among viewers, many of whom asked where they could buy the gummies.

NAVERSHIE (finial)
Product Design · Ceramics · Cultural HeritageThe Brief: Create a ceramic object that reinterprets the tradition of finials — decorative elements placed at the tops of objects such as flagpoles or Christmas trees.
The Idea: Once a familiar tradition, finials have gradually disappeared from contemporary visual culture. I wanted to bring this tradition into a modern context, using a national symbol to evoke a sense of belonging and cultural identity.
The Solution: The process began with a plasticine model. I then explored the object’s form and potential appearance using AI tools.
The Outcome: The project evolved beyond an academic concept: the object is now being produced on commission.

OGRADA (fence)
Product Design · Conceptual Furniture · AI-Assisted VisualizationThe Brief: Design a furniture collection consisting of at least three objects.
The Idea: The Soviet-era PO-2 concrete fence is a familiar element of the urban environment, usually perceived as a barrier. In this project, its distinctive form became the starting point for a furniture collection.
The Solution: I reinterpreted the aesthetics of Soviet concrete fencing in a series consisting of an armchair, a sofa, and an ottoman. The geometry of urban infrastructure was combined with the aesthetics of Soviet furniture from the 1970s and 1980s. AI tools were used to visualize the concepts.
The Outcome: The project attracted exhibition interest and demonstrated potential for further development and production.

ZABOR
Artist’s Zine · Visual Research · Urban StudiesThe Brief: Create a zine exploring everyday life.
The Idea: The most familiar things often go unnoticed. I turned my attention to fences and other urban barriers — elements of the built environment that shape where we can go and how we interact with public space every day.
The Solution: Across nine spreads, I explored the fence as both a physical and symbolic barrier. Drawing on my interest in urban studies and the concept of the right to the city, I examined how man-made boundaries restrict access to space and shape our relationship with the urban environment.
The Outcome: The zine received high marks, was printed, and exhibited at the Koreshki festival in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The Shining
Book Illustration · Visual Storytelling · Color ExplorationThe Brief: Create an illustrated book based on a literary or cinematic work.
The Idea: Stephen King’s novel The Shining, Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation, and the many interpretations of the story often contradict one another. Rather than choosing one version, I set out to reconcile them through an ironic visual narrative.
The Solution: I experimented with color and atmosphere throughout the illustrations. As the story progresses, the initially bright, warm palette gradually shifts toward colder tones, visually guiding the reader toward the ending.
The Outcome: The book was printed and exhibited at the Koreshki festival in Novosibirsk, Russia. The project also led to an invitation to participate in a zine collaboration dedicated to Stanley Kubrick.

BUKHANKA
Artist’s Zine · Illustration · Mixed MediaThe Brief: Create a zine experimenting with at least four different visual techniques.
The Idea: The history of a vehicle can become the story of a hero. I transformed nearly seven decades of the UAZ Bukhanka van’s history into a classic hero’s journey based on the monomyth.
The Solution: I combined paints, markers, plasticine, collage, pencils, digital illustration, and pastels to create the visual narrative. The combination of techniques became an integral part of the artistic expression.
The Outcome: The zine was printed and exhibited at the Koreshki festival in Novosibirsk, Russia. One copy was sent to UAZ.

The monster of Frankenstern
Animation · Character Design · Music VideoThe Brief: Transform a humorous track from a little-known niche album into a standalone visual project.
The Idea: What if an obscure rap track had its own universe? I invented a fictional rapper named Frankenstern and developed the original joke into an entire story with its own mythology.
The Solution: I created a fictional discography with album covers, as well as an animated music video telling the character’s origin story. Humor, cultural references, and fictional details come together to create a cohesive identity for an artist who never existed.
The Outcome: The animation received high marks and has been screened at festivals.

A Museum for People
Commissioned Project · Animation · Visual MetaphorThe Brief: Communicate the «Museum for Mental and Emotional Well-Being» program at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
The Idea: How can a social mask and emotional discomfort be communicated visually? The story revolves around the metaphor of a dinosaur costume: it makes life uncomfortable, yet a person can become so accustomed to wearing it that they stop noticing its weight. The museum becomes a place where the costume can finally be taken off and left in the cloakroom.
The Solution: I developed a narrative that explores the abstract concept of emotional well-being through an accessible visual metaphor. Animation transforms a complex subject into a story that can resonate with a broad audience.
The Outcome: The client was satisfied with the result and actively uses the animation. Both the full-length and shortened versions have also been screened at festivals.
