Students at the HSE Art and Design School, along with curator Natalia Ryumina, created an animated film for the interactive exhibit «Below the Grass.» The film was based on drawings submitted by visitors, who depicted what the familiar world becomes if one suddenly finds themselves very small.
«Below the Grass» is an immersive play space designed for kids aged 3 to 12 and their parents, conceived by artist Irina Korina and the architectural bureau Chekharda. Here, familiar objects are distorted in scale: a blade of grass resembles a tree, and a mushroom becomes a tower.
The space visitors continued this exploration of scale. They were invited to imagine that they themselves had suddenly become very small and to draw the world they would see around them.

The resulting drawings served as the foundation for an animated video. In it, the unknown tricuspid beetles appear, flowers resemble streetlights, and trees look like skyscrapers.
