WHAT WE CARRY
A personal approach to fashion design

BEFORE FASHION, THERE WAS MUSIC

post

For a significant part of my life, I studied classical music and played the piano. It taught me to see beyond the surface — to recognise tension, rhythm, silence and emotion within a structured composition.Over time, this way of thinking became part of how I approach fashion.I am drawn to the moment when something deeply personal takes shape — when a feeling becomes a gesture, a gesture becomes a silhouette, and an idea becomes a garment.I do not start with clothes. I start with what I want them to express.

SOME THINGS STAY WITH US

Memory is not always an image we can recall. Sometimes it is a feeling attached to a place, an object or a moment of waiting.

In this project, the family piano becomes more than an instrument. It becomes a point of connection between personal history, absence and the things we carry forward without always realising it.

I approached the project as an attempt to give a tangible form to something that cannot be held: the emotional weight of memory.

The question was not what the past looked like, but how it could feel as a physical presence.

THE INDIVIDUAL WITHIN THE SYSTEM

post

An orchestra is a collective in which every musician has a distinct voice — yet no voice exists entirely on its own. My experience with classical music made me sensitive to this tension: the desire to express an individual identity while remaining part of a larger structure. In my project, I explored the relationship between individuality and unity through fashion.I was interested in the balance between discipline and freedom, visual coherence and personal expression — in how different characters can belong to the same world without becoming identical.

How do you belong without losing your own voice?

GENIUS: A GIFT AND A CURSE

post

This project explores the paradox of exceptional talent: the gift that gives a person extraordinary possibilities can also become a force that reshapes — and sometimes damages — their relationships with others.I became interested in the idea of genius not simply as an ability, but as a condition. What happens when devotion to one’s gift begins to override ordinary boundaries? Can extraordinary talent explain behaviour that would otherwise be unforgivable?I translated this conflict into a sculptural garment inspired by the form of a cello case — an object designed to protect something extraordinary, yet also to contain it.The garment becomes a metaphor for genius itself: precious, protective, restrictive and impossible to separate from the person who carries it.

I combine artistic vision with technical understanding and hands-on experience. I can develop an idea, translate it into a visual concept and take part in bringing it to life.

LET’S MAKE IDEAS TANGIBLE.

I am looking to collaborate with fashion teams that value conceptual thinking, strong visual identities and thoughtful garment development. If you are looking for a designer who can connect an idea with its physical expression, I would be glad to talk.Anastasia Belobzhetskaya Fashion Designer · HSE UniversityEmail: belobzhetskaya2005@yandex.ru Tg, inst: @abelobzhetskaya
