An Autumn Day in Lisbon

In my journeys, I have always adhered to the principle that I don’t go anywhere—the place leads me. It invites me, and I trust it, follow it, and immerse all my senses.

It seems to me that a person is incapable of designing their own perfect route, because no matter how hard they try, their train of thought cannot step outside its own boundaries. But if you trust the place and your own eyes, you can see so many interesting, unusual things in the ordinary—a truthfulness; the fullness of life presents itself to us, reflected in the small details that our minds cannot foresee.
