Project Description

During a live performance by a creative duo working at the intersection of noise art and experimental electronics, an original noisebox featuring a perforated tape and a self-soldered amplifier was presented. The live set began with the noisebox, the sound from which was captured through the amplifier. Subsequently, analog synthesizers—a Moog Subharmonicon and a DFAM—were connected to the setup, operating independently of the noisebox. The signal from the noisebox was processed with digital effects in Ableton. This approach allowed for the creation of a multi-layered, dynamically rich sonic environment where industrial textures merge with delicate acoustic details.

The project combined the experience of a classical pianist and a practicing DJ, which is reflected in the structure of the live performance: a rigorous compositional logic intertwines with an intuitive handling of noise and rhythm. The use of a perforated card as a data carrier for sound generation highlights the duo’s interest in the intersection of analog and digital technologies, as well as in exploring the boundaries between music, noise, and sound art.
