This project presents the concept for a retrospective exhibition of the artist Agnes Martin. The core motifs of her work—subtle and elusive feelings—are akin to her lines. Through contemplation of the surrounding world, Agnes Martin arrived at the cage in her later works—a motif that makes her recognizable today. The project reflects on these themes and offers the viewer a curated journey through the artist’s oeuvre.

«ART WORK IS A REPRESENTATION OF OUR DEVOTION TO LIFE»
Agnes Martin suggests that our work represents our honesty to life—our pursuit of truth and purity.
Concept
Searching for Inner Silence
Agnes Martin’s work and her worldview are inseparable. Through ordering, she understood herself and the world around her. As she contemplated subtle and elusive feelings, a line would appear, followed by a grid—as delicate as the themes Agnes Martin explores in her pieces.
